It’s been another rough week here as I have not spent much of my time doing anything but sitting on the couch. After trying to go back to work too soon and falling, I was worked up for a few days fearing that I might have reinjured myself.
Fortunately, the doctor was able to see me on Friday and feels that everything is still progressing just as it should. But that scare was enough to keep me in check with respect to taking my recovery seriously.
Since I was down in the dumps for most of the week, I thought it would be fun to point out three bright spots that kept me going through the tough patches.
Red Dead Redemption 2
If you’re even remotely interested in video games, then you have probably heard all about how Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be the runnaway game of the year.
As someone who is definitely more on the remote side of interest in video games, but also someone who needed an escape over the past few weeks, I can vouch for the fact that this game is amazing.
The incredible amount of detail that is included here is simply mind blowing.
Pardon My Take
My dudes from Barstool’s Pardon My Take podcast could make this list just about every week, but they were especially helpful this week as they brought a sense of normalcy and a bucket full of laughs into my living room.
There were multple times this week where I was sitting on the couch laughing to myself. My wife thought I was cracking up, but I was actually getting better.
Daily Fantasy Sports
Another huge help in keeping my mind off of both the current pain and the looming recovery process was the fact that I had a DFS slate to break down and then watch each and every day.
This was especially helpful on Sunday morning as I prepped for a long day of NFL RedZone Channel and wings from my favorite local spot. It was almost enough to make me forget about this big plastic boot on my foot.
I’m probably staring down the barrel of at least another week on the couch, but thanks to these three things, it might not be all that bad.
Have a great week!
