What’s Up?
It’s graduation season. It’s summer cookout season. And it’s NBA Finals season.
With all of that excitement happening all around us, coming up with clever content ideas is going to be a literal piece of cake this week.
Are you ready to dive in and get your content marketing juices flowing? Let’s get after it!
Advice for Graduates
No matter what industry your business happens to be operating in, there is almost certainly someone involved with your company that is either graduating themselves or watching one of their children, siblings, or relatives graduate this month.
Graduation season serves us up one of the easiest content marketing softballs of all time. All you have to do is put together a little bit of advice for the people you know that are moving on to bigger and better things.
This advice could be specific to your industry. It could be specific to graduates planning to pursue a career in your industry. Or it could be just general advice on how to get the most out of life now that those graduates are headed out into the world.
Not only will this advice be helpful to actual graduates, but it will also help you position your company as relatable to everyone else who will be attending graduation parties over the next few weeks….which probably includes a healthy portion of your customer base.
Summer Cookout Recipes
My sister is hosting a cookout for her husband’s birthday this week, and I am planning on stealing the show with a new bean salad recipe that I have been making.
What are your best summer cookout recipes, and what is it about them that makes them so special?
Imagine the word-of-mouth marketing you might get for your company when someone who consumes your content shows up at a cookout with a dish that steals the show…and then tells everyone where they found the recipe.
If you want to double down on the effort here, get your entire team involved and pull together a collection of summer cookout recipes into one epic list.
NBA Finals Surprise
No one gave the Toronto Raptors much of a chance heading into this year’s NBA Finals, but they are currently sitting on a 3-1 lead and look like they are going to be the next NBA Champions.
This is an amazing story that has dozens of different angles you could pursue in your content.
Any opportunity to compare your company with successful underdogs can make for great storytelling. Unless you work for Wal-Mart, because then no one is going to believe you.
The NBA is also heading for a wild summer with dozens of big-name free agents expected to switch teams. This could be a fun angle to riff on what might happen if there were free agents changing companies in your industry.
Have a Great Week!
Andy
