What’s Up?
It’s been a huge week for me here at Brooklyn Content Headquarters. My recovery from Achilles surgery is going well and I was finally able to take some steps without any assistance.
That puts me one step closer to getting back to what my life was like before Thanksgiving, and I can’t express how much I am looking forward to getting back into my Jeep and driving to one of my favorite Starbucks locations to bang out some content.
Speaking of content, I think we can squeeze out one more week of New Year’s themed content for ourselves and our clients, so that’s what I am going to be working on this week.
Here are the three ideas that I am rolling with.
2018 Recap & Decompress
One of the most powerful ways to put 2018 to bed is to write up everything that went well for your business over the past year. Highlight all of the best parts and express what they meant to you.
And if you are comfortable getting into some of the low points and discussing how you corrected them, that can be some extremely powerful content that connects you to your readers on a human level.
It can also be very therapeutic to decompress and let go of some of those negative emotions.
Best Albums of 2018
If your following great content creators like I am, you have probably seen dozens of “Best Albums of 2018” posts coming your way. There are also the obvious twists like “Best Books” and “Best Movies” that work just as well.
The fun way to incorporate your entire team on a post like this is to ask everyone to submit their absolute favorite album, movie, or book of the past year and then pull all of those quotes together with pictures of the team members.
This is can’t-miss content that will connect readers to various people on your team, which is always a positive.
New Year Business Goals
Most companies take the time to set some goals for themselves around this time of year, but very few companies take those goals and make them public in the form of content.
I think that is a huge mistake.
Using your content platforms to express your aspirations for what the company can be should be one of the primary goals of your content strategy. So feel free to edit those goals to the point where you feel comfortable sharing them and get them out into the world.
And with those three ideas in the can, it is going to be time to move on from the holidays and come up with some clever new ideas next week. But that pressure is on me, all you have to do is subscribe and read.
Have a great week!
-Andy
